Ring in the New Year with friends old and new in Downtown Dublin GA during New Year’s Eve Shamrock Drop! Admission is free, and all ages are welcome when Jackson Street in Downtown Dublin GA hosts 2023’s farewell street party!

Be awed as a brilliantly lit shamrock descends from atop the historic Fred Roberts building at midnight! Bring a lawn chair or blanket to set your family up in Bicentennial Plaza or Founders Park around Theatre Dublin! Popcorn will be popping’ for a kiddie friendly movie (title announced soon) showing at Martin Movie House inside Theatre Dublin at 8 PM, and The Soul Shine Band will have you dancing under the stars right into the New Year in Downtown Dublin GA.

Get the party started early! Head to Company Supply’s New Year’s Eve Bash or Saltwater Fishery’s New Year’s Eve Event to gear up for Shamrock Drop.

A New Year Tradition

Usher in 2024 Dublin-style! Way back in the day, it was a tradition to gather in front of Lauren’s County’s oldest bank, Farmers and Merchants Bank, on New Year’s Eve to watch the clock turn to midnight. Originally located in Downtown Dublin on Jackson Street, Farmers and Merchants Bank is no more, but the Downtown Dublin Development Authority, Main Street Dublin, and City of Dublin brought the tradition back with Shamrock Drop at the Fred Roberts!

Toast to The Stars

Custom designed by Oconee Fall Line Technical College‘s Machine Tool Technology department, the brightly lit shamrock descends from the top of the Fred Roberts building to count down the clock and ring in the new year. But the party starts long before midnight! The fun begins a free movie at Martin Movie House at Theatre Dublin followed by music in Bicentennial Plaza. A portion of Bellevue Avenue (U.S. Highway 80) is closed off so that guests can enjoy the? event. Lawn chairs and coolers are welcome. The official celebration takes place ?from 8 PM ?until midnight.
