Submissions for NYIFF 2025 Are Now Open

New York, NY – Last week juries selected by the Indian Government announced the winners of the 70th National Film Awards. The winners will be facilitated at an official ceremony held in Delhi in October and presided over by the President of India.

The New York Indian Film Festival (NYIFF) congratulates all the winners. Four of the award-winning films have played in recent years at NYIFF.

Saudi Velakka (NYIFF 2023) (Best Malayalam Film, Best Female Playback - Bombay Jayashri. Saudi Velakka also won the Best Film Award at NYIFF 2023)

Gulmohar (NYIFF 2023) (Best Hindi Film, Best Dialogues, Special Mention - Manoj Bajpayee)

Daman (NYIFF 2024) (Best Odia Film)

Murmurs of the Jungle (NYIFF 2022) (Best Documentary, Best Narrator)

Commenting on the National Film Awards Rakesh Kaul, Vice Chairman of the Indo American Arts Council, the parent body of NYIFF, said the following: “The IAAC Board is proud that our film festival curator Mr. Aseem Chhabra continues his stellar track record of identifying winners early and showcasing them for our New York audience.”

The New York Indian Film Festival is presented annually by the Indo-American Arts Council, a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting Indian arts and culture in the United States. Since its inception in 2001, NYIFF has showcased the best in Indian cinema, celebrating the diversity and creativity of filmmakers from India and around the world.

The next year’s NYIFF will mark it’s 25th anniversary. The festival will be held in the summer of 2025.
