From: Real Art WaysYou Make All Things Possible.
As we head into warm weather, we are planning for Park Art - the free, summer-long, art-making, gardening, literacy, and music program for neighborhood children that we have hosted for 33 years. Connecting artists, musicians, and storytellers with kids, planting and watering and appreciating what it takes to make a garden grow, it all takes community.
This work, the movies, exhibitions, live events, and the very existence of Real Art Ways are possible because of your support. Together, we’re building something special.
Please consider a gift to Real Art Ways’ Spring 2023 Appeal.
Thank you

Science on Screen
Where we present a brilliant figure in science, followed by a feature film!
Wednesday, 5/17 at 6:30pm, 7pm Screening
Presenting ecological, biological and academic expertise with matter of fact candor, renowned forester Peter Wohlleben guides us through his understanding of how trees work, and inspires us to really see the forest for the trees. Traveling through Germany, Poland, Sweden and Vancouver, Peter discusses, debates, and explains the process of life, death and regeneration he has observed in the woodland, and the scientific mechanisms behind these wonders of which we are too often unaware.
Pre-Film Discussion with Dr. Susan Masino of Trinity College at 6:30pm!
Dr. Masino is the Vernon D. Roosa Professor of Applied Science at Trinity College and joint appointment in Neuroscience and Psychology. Her research focuses on promoting and restoring brain health, with a particular interest in adenosine, and on the relationship among metabolism, brain activity, and behavior.
In addition to her laboratory research, Dr. Masino is interested in how public policies can improve brain health – with a special focus on New England’s forests – and involved in local educational and environmental issues. During 2018-2019, she was a Charles Bullard Fellow in Forest Research at Harvard and published the seminal paper on the benefits of pro forestation for climate change mitigation, biodiversity, and public health. Dr. Masino will discuss the complex state of New England old growth forests and their ecological impact.
