It's Figeater Season Y'all

And they are coming for your head.

We're just kidding. These clumsy, green jewel-like beetles aren't actually trying to terrify you, the kids, or your dog. They are just bad pilots. 

You will begin to spot more and more figeater beetles, as summer is their mating season, and they are ready for love!

Nat Talks are Back

'Tis the season to get educated!

While you've been hanging out on our rooftop every Friday night, we've been cooking up some great Nat Talks for the fall. Mark your calendars for these upcoming talks!

- Thursday, August 24. Three Parks, Three Stories.
Celebrate the birthday of the National Park Service with a talk by Dr. Keith Lombardo.
- Wednesday, September 20. From Flames to Flow.
Hear from Indigenous filmmakers about the pivotal role of Native communities leading climate resilience and water conservation. More details coming soon!
- Tuesday, October 17. A Serious Game.
Learn from Dr. Mikel Delgado how to give your pet cat an outlet for their natural predatory instincts through interactive play.

Extended Hours

You still got time to hang with us after work!

If you haven't stopped by the Museum during our extended hours, now is the time. Did we mention admission is half priced after 5 PM? 

Our hours are as follows:
Monday-Thursday: 10 AM–7 PM
Friday: 10 AM–10 PM
Saturday-Sunday: 10 AM–5 PM

Last film screening Mon-Fri. is at 5 PM.
