The energy around Springfield was palpable as the community came together for the flag-raising at Court Square and then filled Symphony Hall to enjoy our first annual Juneteenth Concert Celebrating Freedom.

We are grateful to Guest Conductor, Kevin Scott and to Avery Sharpe and his Quartet. We would also like to thank the Extended Family Choir, the SSO Chorus, and the talented musicians of our Symphony Orchestra. The inspirational music that filled the stage was a remarkable tribute to the spirit of this holiday. We extend our thanks to our hardworking volunteers who ensured that everything ran smoothly, as well as to the community for their support and enthusiasm for this event.
