Statement From WVGOP Chairman Herridge on the State of the Presidential Race

Charleston, WV - Chairman Matt Herridge released the following statement, following President Biden’s announcement that he is withdrawing from the presidential race:

“Republicans are energized and ready to win big on November 5 - just over 100 days from now. The Democratic Party is still trying to find their way, and with their incumbent President now forced off the ticket, they’re relying on Kamala Harris to save the day. As Vice President, Kamala Harris had two responsibilities: the southern border and the conflict in Ukraine… Needless to say, Kamala Harris needs fewer responsibilities, not more.

Democrats parrot the talking point that Donald Trump is a threat to democracy - despite President Trump being subjected to constant efforts to wrongly impeach him, imprison him, and efforts to demonize him by the Democrats and their lackeys in the mainstream national press. He even survived a recent assassination attempt. Former President Trump continues to demonstrate his resilience and warrior spirit while the Democratic Party is now forcing out its nominee against the will of its primary voters — all because they finally realize his presidency is going so poorly that he is simply unelectable. The questions that deserve answers are (1) why White House officials, including Harris, and the media ignored President Biden’s decline for so long; and (2) is he still fit to serve the remainder of his term if he can’t run for re-election.

While the Democrats are in utter disarray, the Republican Party has never been more unified. The Republican Convention in Milwaukee last week was a huge success, and the West Virginian and American patriots in attendance and across the country are even further emboldened to elect Donald Trump and JD Vance to reverse the Biden-Harris administration’s disastrous policies and Make America Great Again!”
