The Ark Events - July 2023

Arts and Entertainment

June 13, 2023

From: The Ark

Greetings!

Hope your summer is off to a good start.  We’ve got lots of great shows coming to The Ark in July as well as co-sponsored events in other venues.  Something for everyone!

We’ll start off the month with The Harlem Gospel Travelers on July 1. “Gospel’s at the root of everything,” says lead singer Thomas Gatling. “Country, folk, rock, soul, blues; we love it all, and it’s all in there.” This young trio draws deeply on the gospel quartet tradition of the 50s and 60s but with a distinctly modern edge. Prepare to be blown away!

July also brings us familiar names like Tommy Prine (son of the late John Prine) on the 9th, Iris DeMent on the 14th, and Marshall Crenshaw celebrating 40 years in the music biz on the 17th.  We close out the month on the 31st with Nanna – lead singer of Of Monsters and Men – touring with her first solo album.

Outside of The Ark, we’re presenting Jenny Lewis at the Majestic on July 12, Sierra Ferrell also at the Majestic on July 13, and Nickel Creek at the Masonic Cathedral Theatre on the 18th.  Plus join us at the Stage on Main, July 20-22 for free music programed by The Ark for the Ann Arbor Summer Art Fair.
