Our annual Summer Reading Challenge begins Tuesday! Every year, our libraries put together a reading challenge for each age group (youth, young adult and adult) as well as offer a plethora of events and activities throughout the month of June. Accept the reading challenge for the chance to win some amazing prizes or just attend a few of the activities that interest you. The main goal is to get everyone - regardless of age - excited about reading and looking at literacy in a new light.

Summer Reading Challenge
Registration begins May 30
Our Reading Challenge isn't just for kids - we want everyone to uncover the magic of literature! As is tradition, we are offering a Literary Bingo for our older patrons to play. Read to create a line or black out the board for a chance to win some excellent prizes, such as a $160 Metta Day Spa gift card or $50 Jonah's gift card.

Beginner Yoga
Wednesdays, 9:45am - 10:45am
Interesting in starting a yoga practice? Join us in our weekly Beginner Yoga Class where we focus on breathe and strength while working on balance and flexibility. We flow through a simple vinyasa sequence that is accessible for those new to yoga. Yoga supplies available to those without. Registration is appreciated but not required.

Saturdays, 10:00am - Noon
Are you or someone you know interested in sharpening their English-speaking skills? Every week, volunteer native English speakers are available to help out. Learn in a group or individual setting. Registration is appreciated, but not required.

Friends of the Library Used Book Sale
Tuesdays, 10:00am - 5:00pm
Our Friends the the Library used book store is open every Tuesday, from 10am to 5pm. Here, you will find hardbacks, paperbacks, DVDs, magazines, puzzles and more. All softly used and in good condition. Nothing over $5.00. All proceeds are used to help fund library programs and materials.

Exceptional Students Create
Thomasville City School students from the K-5 Exceptional Students Program are displaying the their work completed in collaboration with Friends & Stars, Inc. Three different schools are currently on display in the main Thomasville Library's Henry Flipper Room. Available for public view M-F, 9:30 - 5:00pm and Sat, 9:30 - 3:00pm.

Summer Reading Challenge
Registration begins May 30
Our Summer Reading Challenge is around the corner! Help prevent the "summer slide" through this fun Reading Challenge. We challenge children up to 11 years old to read for ten (10) minutes at a time, five levels adding up to total of 200 minutes. Completing each level earns children a small prize and a chance to win some stellar grand prizes, too.

Summer Reading Challenge

This summer, we are offering tweens and young adults a basic challenge: To read ten (10) books in five (5) weeks. Using a Book Punch Card, each card filled up earns the reader a ticket toward winning of the grand prize of their choice. And, of course, the month of June is packed full of events and activities, too.

Boston Library - Quiddler Club
Tuesdays, 2:00pm
Every Tuesday the Quiddler Club meets to socialize and enjoy a few rounds of the word-card game, Quiddler. The object of the game is to get points by combining the lettered cards in your hand and make words.

Swing in anytime during open hours (1:30-6:00pm) for a S.T.E.A.M. project (science, technology, engineering, art and math). We will be making Ocean Zones jars so that your child can clearly see the ocean layers and learn about liquid density in the process. Intended for ages 4-12 with their caregivers.
