Monroe will participate in a regional, drive-through hazardous waste collection day on Saturday, December 3, 2022 from 9:00 am - 1:00 pm. The collection site will be at 307 Indian Ledge Park Drive in Trumbull, next to the BMX Facility. Plan on showing your driver's license for proof of residency. Click here for more details on what is (and is not) accepted.

Business Updates

-Please join us on November 28, 2022 at 5:00 PM for the Grand Opening & Ribbon Cutting for Monroe's newest business, October Six, located at 446 Main Street (behind Uncle Al's Ice Cream). October Six a is store to find one-of-a kind items. Inventory includes clothing, dresses, shoes, jewelry, bags and gifts, all hand picked by owner Chelsey.

-Meet Me Premium Steaks, a new butcher shop, will be opening at 464 Main Street. They have received their building permit and will be starting construction soon

-The Panera Cafe has informed us that they are moving as quickly as possible, yet must delay their grand opening to December.

Monroe Playground Foundation Recognized

Congratulations to the Monroe Playground Foundation for being awarded the 2022 Selected Organization Award from the Connecticut Recreation & Parks Association.  Our Parks & Recreation Director Missy Orosz nominated this organization and their incredible contribution to Monroe in building The Wolfe’s Den playground. This award is given to an organization that has made an outstanding voluntary and significant contribution to the field of public recreation and parks.

Parks Director Missy Orosz on State Board

Parks & Recreation Director Missy Orosz was nominated by her peers and elected to the Board of Directors of the Connecticut Recreation & Parks Association. Missy will serve a 2-year term as a volunteer Director at Large. Congratulations to Missy on being recognized as a leader in her field!
