December 21, 2022

From: Town of Newington

This is a Reminder:   No bills are sent for the 2nd installment for the January Real Estate and/or Personal Property tax.   Your January installment was included with your July tax bill.  If you have misplaced the January installment you can locate the information on line or call the Tax Office (860) 666-8540.  Supplemental Motor Vehicle tax bills will be mailed at the end of December which are for cars purchased or registered after October 1, 2021. If you no longer own the vehicle or have questions, contact the Assessor at 860 665-8530.

The last day to pay without penalty is February 1st. All payments received on February 2nd will be charged interest according to CT State Statute Sec. 12-146.  All back taxes must be paid prior to the new tax bills.

The Tax Office is open to the public and does accept payments by check, money order, and cash.   You may also pay by mail, or drop your check into the silver tax payment box located near the Town Hall entrance, or pay online www.newingtonct.gov.  Do not pay back taxes online if you need to do something at the Dept. of Motor Vehicles.

Taxpayers are responsible to pay taxes when they are due.  Failure to receive a tax bill does not invalidate the tax, interest or fees.
