From: Town of Old LymeGovernor Ned Lamont announced that, due to a weather forecast indicating that Connecticut will experience extremely cold air and strong winds, he is directing the state’s severe cold weather protocol to go into effect beginning at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 2, 2023, and remain in effect until 12:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 5, 2023. While there are no specific actions being taken by Old Lyme, anyone in need is urged to call 2-1-1 to get connected to these services. Safety measures have been enacted at shelters and warming centers throughout Connecticut to adhere to the needs of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
Free Vaccine & Flu Clinic – Mon. 2/6/2023 at 12-2 PM
Reminder: LedgeLight Health District will be sponsoring a VACCINE CLINIC on Monday, February 6th, from 12 – 2 PM at the Lymes’ Senior Center, located at 26 Town Woods Road, Old Lyme. The regular flu shot will be available (not a high dose) and the COVID shot will also be available. You may receive one or both of the vaccines that day. If you are interested in the Moderna COVID vaccine, please remember to bring your COVID vaccination card. The vaccines are available to anyone over the age of 18. This is a FIRST COME FIRST SERVE BASIS and is a WALK-IN SERVICE ONLY. There will be NO RESERVATIONS taken and vaccines will be given until they run out.
Free AED Training – MON. 2/27/2023 at 1 PM
The Lymes' Senior Center will be hosting a FREE Automated External Defibrillator (AED) training session on Monday, February 27th at 1 PM led by local EMTs Colleen Atkinson and Doug LoPresti. In this training session, you will learn exactly what an AED is and what is does, how to recognize a cardiac arrest and how to use the AED to save someone’s life. Colleen and Doug will demonstrate “Hands Only” CPR, integrated with the use of the AED before the ambulance arrives. This program is FREE and OPEN TO THE PUBLIC. Please sign-up by calling the Lymes’ Senior Center at (860) 434-4127. Please note this is not a certification course.
