Vineland Public Library Now Offering Hoopla!

Launched at the Vineland Public Library in September 2022, Hoopla is a digital service for our library users that gives immediate access to movies and TV shows, full music albums, eBooks, Audiobooks, comics, and graphic novels. ALL of this content is available through one easy-to-use mobile app or the website. The platform is simple, intuitive, and free to our patrons with NO WAITING for titles. The collection contains more than 1,000,000 titles and is growing every day! Hoopla is funded by The Friends of the Vineland Public Library.

Content borrowed through Hoopla is available for immediate streaming on a computer or mobile device. On the digital app, content can be temporarily downloaded for offline use (yes, you can watch movies and listen to audiobooks while you are traveling!). Hoopla’s eReader, Action View, is interactive, allowing a comic book to be read panel by panel. Hoopla even has a Kid’s Mode setting, allowing young people access to content geared towards ages 12 and under. Visit the Vineland Public Library to get started using this fantastic service today! Once you’re registered, you can check out four items on your Hoopla account per month. They automatically return at the end of their borrowing period and there are never any fines.

Hoopla is free for all Vineland Library card holders. Residents of Vineland can get a free library card by showing photo ID, proof of residence, and completing a short form at the Circulation Desk. For more information, please call (856) 794-4244 ext. 4243.

Local Author Book Signing at Vineland Public Library

Be sure to visit Vineland Public Library to meet local author M MacKinnon! Ms. MacKinnon is the author of a number of books including the Highland Spirits Trilogy.  She will be at the library on Tuesday, January 10 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. and copies of her books will be available for sale.

M MacKinnon has always been a writer. When she was eight, she wrote a story called “Princess Zelda”, a plagiarized mixture of Moses and Cinderella, and begged her mother for weeks to take it to the local library and get them to publish it. A gentle refusal to do so, while seen as a betrayal of the highest order, did not stop Ms. MacKinnon from continuing her writing.

This free event will take place on Tuesday, January 10 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. in the library’s Community Event Room, located on the first floor. Questions? Please call the Information Desk at 856-794-4244 ext. 4243. The Vineland Public Library is located at 1058 E. Landis Avenue.
