Supportive Services for Veteran Families at Vineland Public Library

America, home of the free because of the Brave…No Veteran should be without a place to call home. Veteran homelessness is a reality, for now. There is help. Let’s explore more….

Supportive Services for Veterans and Families will be available at the Vineland Public Library, 1058 E. Landis Avenue, on Tuesday, October 10 from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. Attendees will learn about the valuable resources available to veterans and their families. Registration is not required. Walk-ins welcome! This program will take place in the Public Office, located on the second floor of the library.

Their mission is to end veteran homelessness with a federally funded program from the VA (SSVF – Supportive Services for Veteran Families), and, connect the Veteran with resources and benefits.

Afternoon Adult Book Club at Vineland Public Library

Game Day for Seniors at Vineland Public Library

Would you like to meet new people and have fun? Then be sure to join the Vineland Public Library for an afternoon of fun and games! Senior participants can choose from Scrabble, Yahtzee, or Uno and light refreshments will be available.

Senior Game Day will be held every Thursday from 2:00 – 3:30 p.m. in the library’s Community Event Room. This free program is for seniors, and registration is required. Free Tai Chi Class at Vineland Public Library

Sometimes referred to as “moving meditation,” Tai Chi (pronounced Tie-Chee) uses slow, deliberate movements to benefit health and balance. A free Tai Chi class is being held on Friday, October 27 from 11:00 – 11:45 a.m., in the Community Event Room of the Vineland Public Library. Taught by Morris Siegel, a member of the Yang Family Tai Chi Association and the United Fellowship of Martial Artists International, this class is designed for seniors but open to all adults ages 18 and over.  Class size is limited, and registration is required. Afternoon Tea and Coloring at Vineland Public Library

Join Vineland Public Library, 1058 E. Landis Avenue, for a relaxing afternoon of tea and coloring. Coloring is not just for kids anymore! Studies have shown that coloring helps adults de-stress, generates wellness, and stimulates brain areas related to motor skills and creativity. This event will be held on Tuesday, October 10, from 2:00 – 3:00 p.m. in the library’s Community Event Room, located on the first floor. Tea, coffee, and supplies will be provided. Book Bingo for Adults at Vineland Public Library

Book Bingo will take place on Thursday, October 5 from 6:00-7:00 pm in the library’s Community Event Room, located on the first floor. Called cozies for short, cozy mysteries are a sub-genre of crime and mystery books that are lighter on the violence and sexual content. If you’re a fan of cozies, we’d love to have you join the Vineland Public Library’s Cozy Mystery Book Club. Often there is a special treat served in theme with the reading selection. In the 1^st floor Community Event Room, on Monday, October 9, from 5:30 – 6:30 p.m., the group will be discussing Wicked Fix by Sarah Graves. Free Resume Workshop at Vineland Public Library

Are you looking for a job? Do you need help writing a resume? Are you interested in learning what potential employers look for in job candidates?  If so, the Vineland Public Library, 1058 E. Landis Avenue, has the program for you! Local Business Specialist Bob Marino will host a free resume workshop on Wednesday, October 18 from 5:30 – 7:00 p.m. in the library’s Community Event Room (located on the first floor).

This workshop, sponsored by the Friends of Vineland Public Library, will include tips on how to build an effective resume, a review of different resume formats, and information on how to format a cover letter. Please bring a resume or draft if you have one. Registration is required for this free event, and space is limited to 20 people.
