Snow and Ice Control Policy
The Towns Snow and Ice Control Policy has been updated.
Please make sure all of the town roads are clear of vehicles, basketball hoops, boats, or anything encroaching on the town right of way.
Please make sure mailboxes are installed properly and the proper distance from the road.
The sand for resident use is provided behind Town Hall by the old garage.
Cold Weather Hazards
Pet owners are reminded that the newly enacted Public Act 22-59 Tethering and Adequate Shelter law states: when either a weather advisory or warning is issued by the National Weather Service, or outdoor environmental conditions, including, but not limited to, extreme heat, cold, wind, rain, snow or hail, pose an adverse risk to the health or safety of a dog based on such dog’s breed, size, age, thickness of coat or physical condition, no person shall (1) tether such dog outdoors to a stationary object or mobile device, including, but not limited to, a trolley or pulley, unless such tethering is for a duration of not more than fifteen minutes, or (2) fail to provide such dog adequate shelter for a duration of more than fifteen minutes, unless such person is in the presence of such dog and outdoors during such advisory or warning or exposed to such outdoor environmental conditions.

Tax Collector’s Notice
Notice is hereby given to all taxpayers of the Town of Voluntown that the second and final installment on Real Estate and Personal Property, including Supplemental Motor Vehicle taxes on the Grand List of October 1, 2021, are due and payable on January 1, 2023.
The second installments and Supplemental Motor Vehicle taxes may be paid without penalty through February 1, 2023. The rate of interest is 1.5% per month from the due date of January 1st (18% per year) or a minimum of $2.00 per bill or installment. If paid in February but after the 1st, interest is computed at 3%.
Office Hours: Monday 9-2pm, Tuesday 9-2pm and 5-7pm and Thursday 9-2pm. We encourage everyone to pay by mail, drop box out front, or online at Voluntown.gov.
Payments may be made by mail (P.O. Box 96, Voluntown, CT 06384). If a receipt is required, please send a portion of the bill and enclose a stamped self-addressed envelope.
Failure to receive a tax bill does not invalidate the tax or interest.

Junior Duck Stamp Art Competition
2023 Connecticut Junior Duck Stamp Art Competition: This contest is open to all students, kindergarten through grade 12, who are Connecticut residents. To enter, students create and submit a drawing or painting featuring native waterfowl (ducks or geese). There is no cost, and submissions must be postmarked by March 15, 2023.
Calling all creative young artists and art educators in Connecticut! Entries are now being accepted for the 2023 Connecticut Junior Duck Stamp Art Competition.
As part of a concerted effort to encourage more young people to explore the natural world and increase conservation awareness, the Connecticut Junior Duck Stamp “Best in Show” winner will be featured as the 2024 Connecticut Migratory Bird Conservation Stamp.

Dollhouse Drawing to Benefit the Voluntown Community Fund
Winner:
Brian Muschiano was the lucky winner of this extraordinary dollhouse. Upon winning, he immediately paid it forward and donated the dollhouse.
Funds Raised:
For every $5 donation to the Voluntown Community Fund, you will receive one entry ticket. Donations can be made at the Voluntown Town Hall starting on Monday, November 28 and will be accepted until Monday, December 19. The drawing will be held on Tuesday, December 20th, just in time for Christmas delivery!
