PENNSYLVANIA — Connecticut hedge fund CEO and mega-millionaire David McCormick is coming under pressure from Pennsylvanians who are calling him out for lying about being a farmer, where he lives, and the details of his background.

Here’s What Pennsylvanians Are Saying:

Lock Haven Express Letter to the Editor: Dave McCormick; bad for farmers, bad for PA

  • Dave McCormick’s shtick pretending to be a small-town farmer is getting really old, and fast. Especially when Pennsylvanians have learned that he actually ran the country’s biggest hedge fund before he flew in from Connecticut and tried to buy a Senate seat. He failed in 2022, and he’s going to fail again in November.

  • McCormick thinks Pennsylvanians can’t see through his tall tales. He keeps running this ad where he lies through his teeth about being a farmer. Really? Last time I checked, being a farmer isn’t slang for being a millionaire hedge fund manager.

  • Dave McCormick doesn’t know the value of hard work. What does he know about the Keystone state? He’s an out-of-touch city slicker.

Clarion News Letter to the Editor: McCormick isn’t fooling anyone

  • Dave McCormick’s newest campaign con about standing up for farmers is laughable. Just this year, he was caught lying to voters about being a farmer, yet he keeps pandering to rural communities across the Commonwealth.

  • He’s a Wall Street millionaire from the Nutmeg State trying to pretend he stands for true Pennsylvanian values. He thinks he can buy our votes.

  • Maybe that’s how things work on Wall Street, but not in Pennsylvania.

  • While Dave McCormick spent a decade on Wall Street selling out Pennsylvania jobs to China and profiting from mismanaging our pensions, Senator Casey spent those years fighting for working families across the Commonwealth. And nowhere is his dedication more obvious than in our rural communities.

  • Just this year, Senator Casey brought a million dollars to Clarion County to help us build a community center. He fought for our rural hospitals and first responders and made sure our farmers had the resources to keep putting food on the table across Pennsylvania.

  • That’s right – McCormick failed to put America first when he was a hedge fund exec. We can’t trust him to put us first now. I’m voting for strong, authentic leadership this November, and that’s why I’m voting for Senator Casey.

Lock Haven Express Letter to the Editor: A carpetbagger for U.S. Senate?

  • Should Pennsylvanians elect a hedge fund CEO from Connecticut to represent us in the U.S. Senate? I don’t think so.

  • Until recently, Senate candidate David McCormick lived in Westport, Conn. He owns homes in Texas and Colorado and bought a home in Pittsburgh in 2022 — not coincidentally, just before he ran and lost his first campaign for the Senate.

  • Should Pennsylvanians vote for a candidate from Connecticut — or for someone who is a native son of Pa., and who works consistently on our needs? The answer is clear. Bob Casey, born, raised and still residing in Scranton, has worked for everyone in this state for 18 years. Let’s re-elect our hard-working Senator Casey.

Lancaster Online Letter to the Editor: McCormick is a carpetbagger

  • Seriously? First Dr. Mehmet Oz, and now another guy who doesn’t really live in Pennsylvania — Dave McCormick — wants to be “our” U.S. senator.

  • Instead of running in Pennsylvania, McCormick needs to run in Connecticut where his wealthy friends might welcome him with open arms.

  • Yet he says he’s a regular Pennsylvanian just like the rest of us … not.

  • He just seemingly doesn’t live here much — until he wants to run for office.

Daily Item Letter to the Editor: Choice is clear

  • Currently, the 2022 Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) lets Medicare negotiate drug prices with manufacturers and prevents drug companies from increasing these prices beyond inflation.

  • McCormick is against all that. He supports Republican proposals to repeal Medicare’s ability to negotiate drug prices.

  • [Senator Casey] has vowed to maintain and improve the current Social Security and Medicare programs. He favors protecting and expanding the ACA to provide health care for all Pennsylvanians.

  • If you are one of the 329,000 Pennsylvania residents on Social Security or the 2.8 million on Medicare, the choice is obvious. Reelect Casey. For your health. For our health.
