Volunteer Video is Now Available!
We have had several people ask if the volunteer video that was shown at the 50th Anniversary Gala could be made available for people to have a copy. Well, you asked and we listened! We even added background music. You can bring by a flash drive during our open hours 10am-3pm Mondays and Thursdays and we will down load you a copy.

Museum Store Opens Saturday, March 25, 2023
Surprise! You had no way of knowing that we trial tested some wholesale items in our Gingerbread House Festival shop this year, as an experiment, and we sold out of many of them! Therefore, as requested by many for years, we have decided to pilot a small gift shop. We hope you will check it out the next time you’re in for a program, or stop by during our normal business hours.
Back by popular demand are Swedish Dishcloths, locally sourced from Connecticut and magnetic bookmarks by an artist in Massachusetts. New items to the shop include South Windsor notecards, elderberry syrup, and a variety of beautiful, nature-inspired children’s books. Also for kids are 3D paper and wooden craft kits – choose from Eagle, Turtle, Butterfly and Woolly Mammoth!
For a limited time, beginning March 25th in honor of our Maple Celebration in Nowashe Village, we will also have Passamaquoddy maple syrup direct from Maine. Most items priced at $10 or less and you’ll be supporting cultural and educational programming offered by the Friends in both Wood Memorial Library and Nowashe Village. Please note you can still order several books through our online Museum Store.
Coming soon - Connecticut honey (both house blend and late harvest)
Call for Gardens for the Upcoming 2024 Tour
Do you have a backyard oasis that you are willing to share? The Down to Earth Garden Club and the Friends of Wood Memorial Library collaborate to host a garden tour every other year. We are looking for garden hosts for our 2024 tour to be held on June 9.
We seek a diverse selection of gardens that reflect the homeowners unique tastes with garden selection in June of 2023. Then, homeowners open their yards to ticket holders on the tour date in 2024 to support this significant fundraiser.
If you know of a garden that may fit the tour or want to volunteer your own yard please contact Cate Evans at [email protected] or 860 593-7163.
