Mission Statement
Always Seeking To Know Christ, Live Christ, And Make Christ Known To All People
The All Saint's Episcopal Church parish shield has an interesting history. The white cross raguly comes from the Lawrence family coat-of-arms and was chosen in honor of Bishop W. Appleton Lawrence, who was instrumental in establishing the congregation. The white stars with golden crowns were inspired by a passage in the Book of Revelation and recall a favorite All Saints' Day hymn "Who are these like stars appearing?"
The motto "Compassed About" which appears at the bottom of the shield comes from the traditional collect and epistle for a Saint's Day, "Since we are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses.
The church has a beautiful banner depicting the shield which is regularly displayed behind the altar. The banner was lovingly made by a parishioner in the 1970s. The shield is also used on correspondence from the church, including the monthly parish newsletter, The Compass
