Loving Disciples of Christ: Blessing Homes, Connecting Lives and Meeting Needs"

To paraphrase Jesus after he was once asked about the greatest commandment in Scripture, he said that we should love God with everything we've got, and that we should love others just as we want and need to be loved ourselves. (Matthew 22:35-40)  In other words, there is no greater endeavor in life than to become more deeply loving.  That is why our most important mission here at All Saints is to become fully devoted loving disciples or followers of Jesus Christ.

"Most certainly fathers and mothers are apostles, bishops and priests to their children, for it is they who make them acquainted with the gospel."  (Martin Luther)  These words remind us of the great importance of what happens in our homes, no matter what the make-up of them might be.  Therefore we see Blessing Homes as one of our top priorities, equipping individuals and families to experience and share the gospel.

Over and over again in Scripture one sees God at work in Connecting Lives.  Sin fractures what God intends for us--good, life-giving relationships with God and with one another.   But Christ came to restore us to back to God and to one another.  So, because relationships are so key to life and faith, we seek to provide opportunities for Small Group ministries to flourish.  We all need one another, and we all have something to contribute.

Jesus' heart was continually moved as he lived his life.  The suffering he witnessed moved him to compassion.  Whether it was feeding hungry stomachs, healing diseased bodies, or encouraging people's faith, he was about Meeting Needs.  In fact, it's often one of the most tangible ways that the church can share the good news of God's love in Jesus is by putting that love into action in very tangible ways.  At All Saints, you will find a multitude of ways this community reaches out to make this world a better place.
