Post 19, Department of Tennessee is located at 812 Nashville Highway, Columbia. Meetings are held the 1st Tuesday of each month, starting with dinner at 6:00 PM.
Post 19 has approximately 700 members and a Ladies Auxiliary Unit.
Post 19 activities include:
Support of veterans at the Alvin C. York Hospital in Murfreesboro. Support includes providing needs as well as aChristmas Party.
Sponsorship of Legion Baseball team. The Post 19 team won the 2007 American Legion World Series.
Sponsorship of Boy Scout Troop 176. Troop 176 is very active and has produces several Eagle Scouts.
Bi-annual Ham Breakfast. The Post 19 ham breakfast has become a tradition in the Columbia area. Conducted twice a year, the breakfast typically feeds 600 guests.
Jr. ROTC. Post 19 supports Jr. ROTC programs at both Central High in Columbia and Spring Hill High School.
Veterans Services - Post 19 actively supports veterans in need and provides guidance regarding benefits available.
Pot-luck Dinners - Post 19 members enjoy dinners for such events as Derby Day, Valentines Day, Christmas and Thanksgiving..just to name a few.
Boy's State - Each year Post 19 selects young men to participate in the program.
