With a membership of over 300 painters, sculptors and photographers, the Art Society of Old Greenwich is one of the largest in Connecticut. It was founded in 1927 by Robert Wesley Amick, a noted illustrator working in New York City, who retired in the Greenwich area. Known for western landscapes, he gathered painting professionals and community artists into a friendly organization which came to be known as the Art Society of Old Greenwich.
