AscenDance Seminar and Auditions: Climbers from America's Got Talent
AscenDance Project was founded in 2006 by German born performance artist and rock climber Isabel von Rittberg to create work that explores the aesthetics of climbing. Movement on a vertical stage, without the use of ropes, has a beauty and grace enhanced by the effects of gravity on the dancer and his/her ability to overcome. AscenDance Project integrates the technical strength of climbing with expressive movement and music to create a new kind of aerial performance on a vertical stage. In 2010, AscenDance Project made it to the semi-finals of America’s Got Talent. This was a turning point for the company. AscenDance Project has grown, traveled and performed across the country since then. The troupe has moved to Boulder, Colorado and is teaching classes as well as searching for new performers to join AscenDance Project.
