The Assisi Animal Foundation has been serving Mchenry County for over 25 years as the first no-kill animal shelter built in the county. Our mission is to rescue owner relinquished, stray and neglected cats and dogs and then re-home when appropriate. Since 1987 we have been providing pet assisted therapy to 11 nursing homes and senior facilities in McHenry County. We are a small grass roots 501(c) 3 that relies on membership, donations,grants and fundraisers to support our mission.
