32nd Annual Atlanta Veterans Day Parade and Freedom Ball
Saturday, November 9, 2013
Honor our Nation's Veterans by supporting the annual parade in downtown Atlanta, GA. Presented by the Georgia Veterans Day Parade Association of Atlanta, Inc., the 32nd Annual Atlanta Veterans Day Parade will be held on Saturday, November 9, 2013. Our great city has a history of wonderful support for parades throughout the year and we hope that you will join us in saying thanks to a group of great Americans who protected the freedoms we all hold dear. The Atlanta Veterans Day Parade will pay tribute to roughly three-quarters of a million Georgia Veterans and their families.
We are very pleased to announce that this year's theme for the Parade and Freedom Ball is:
"Honoring our Korean War Veterans and All Who Preserved Freedom."
For many Americans, the Korean War is often overlooked as it began right after the end of World War Two and prior to our long involvement in the Vietnam War. Something that is often forgotten is that it iwas the first shooting battle in the Cold War. The men and women who served during this time stopped the spread of Communism that had thrust down the entire penninsula of South Korea. Their sacrifices returned freedom to South Korea and allowed it to prosper into the Asian leader it is today.
Please join us in saying thanks!
Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Marines have all given their time, and often their lives, to protect our freedoms. They answered the call when our Nation needed them most. And now they deserve our honor and respect. We invite you to take this opportunity to say thanks and show your appreciation by participating in this patriotic event.
Since 1981, volunteers from veteran groups, active duty Military and civic minded community members have been staging a Veterans Day Parade in Atlanta. We invite you to join us. The 2013 Veterans Day Parade will be on Saturday, November 9, 2013 at 11:11 am in downtown Atlanta. The Parade Reviewing stand is by the World of Coca Cola on Baker Street.
