About Bad Axe Public Library:
The Bad Axe Public Library is one of the busiest libraries per capita in the state of Michigan, serving the City of Bad Axe, Colfax, Verona, Lincoln and Meade townships as well as sections of Sigel, Bloomfield and Grant townships. The library serves a population of 9,300 with an annual circulation of 84,000.
The library houses a collection of 28,000 items, including monographs, audio books, VHS tapes, DVDs, music CDs and cassettes, computer games, Play Station, Play Station 2, X-Box and Nintendo 64. The Huron Daily Tribune and Huron County census records are available for viewing on micro-film.
Six computer stations with flat screen monitors offer high-speed wireless Internet access to the public. The library also has a children's room with a reading pit, stuffed animals and a large-screen TV, a reading area with leather couches and a gas fireplace, a dedicated teen area and a meeting room available for small group public use.
The library's holdings are accessible on two electronic catalogs. The public internet computers also allow patrons to access library collections in other libraries within the White Pine library cooperative system.
