History

Since 1970, Ballet Northwest has been a community-based group dedicated to promoting, teaching, and preserving the art of dance in Southwest Washington. The company offers educational opportunities for local dancers as well as outreach throughout the community. 

Husband and wife team Ken and Josie Johnson joined Ballet Northwest as Artistic Directors in 2008. Their vision has brought a renewed vitality to the company and many of its traditions.

Ballet Northwest is a community-based group dedicated to dance as a performing art. We produce performances featuring primarily local dancers; offer educational opportunities for performers and the community; and promote the art of dance in Southwest Washington.
