The History
Our family history and an "old world" feel are evident in every direction at Becker Vineyards. As you make your way down Becker Farms Road, alongside our estate Syrah you arrive at the Lavender Haus and Tasting Room and Winery. Adjacent to the winery is a log homestead cabin circa 1890 and is the original homestead. Its renovation was completed in 1997 and for years served as a charming Bed and Breakfast. It is no longer in operation as a B&B but reserved for special guests of the winery and used in conjunction with wedding parties and special celebrations. The welcoming Hearth just inside the tasting room door crackles and pops with warmth on chilly days. In the Texas summer months The Verandah runs the full length of the winery and host an outdoor bar and beautiful view of the lavender fields. Have a glass and take a moment to rest in full view of the antique windmill, homestead tank and artichoke test plot. The late Former First Lady- Lady Bird Johnson- famous for her National Wildflower projects, loved our fields of native wildflowers growing on the property (and loved our Chardonnay!). Peach orchards and grass hay production sourround the estate as well.
