The Buggs Island Striper Club was formed in the spring of the year 2000 by a small group of dedicated and caring sportsmen who regularly practice striped bass angling on John H. Kerr Reservoir, also known as Buggs Island Lake. Nestled between the rolling hills on the borders of Virginia and North Carolina the 50,000 acre Lake is nearly 39 miles long with more than 800 miles of shoreline. Striped Bass known locally as Rockfish are one of the most sought after and fascinating species of fish in the Reservoir. Kerr Reservoir is one of the few lakes in the U.S. large enough to allow striped bass to spawn.
