Mission:
Our mission at Cainhoy, in partnership with our community, is to ignite in every student a passion for world-class knowledge and skills through dynamic instruction and personalized educational opportunities.
About Us:
Cainhoy Elementary School is located in the Francis Marion National Forest. Many of the families in the Cainhoy-Huger-Wando communities have been here for generations. Cainhoy School was started in 1955-1956 as a 1st-12th grade school, called Cainhoy Elementary and High School. The name and configuration of the school changed a number of times before reaching the level we have today. The school was changed to Cainhoy Elementary Middle School in 1996, housing grades CD4 - 8th grade over the last decade. High school students attendended Hanahan and Timberland High schools. The school configuration recently changed in 2016, making Cainhoy an elementary school. Cainhoy Elementary School serves children beginning at 3 years old in our Head Start program up through 5th grade. Keeping a focus on our rich Lowcountry traditions is important for Cainhoy Elementary and our families and students who have lived and worked in this community for so long!
