CASA of Williamson County, TX

805 W. University Avenue, Suite 111
512-868-2822

CASA of Williamson County speaks up for children who've been abused or neglected by empowering our community to volunteer as advocates for them in the court system. CASA volunteers come from every walk of life and share a commitment to improving children's lives, a willingness to learn, and an open mind towards life experiences different from their own. Volunteers complete an interview, background checks and 36 hours of intensive training. After being sworn-in by a judge, volunteers are appointed to a child or family of children and spend an average of 20 hours a month advocating for these children for at least a year. They get to know the child while also gathering information from the child's family, teachers, doctors, care-givers and anyone else involved in the child’s life in order to make independent and informed recommendations to help the judge decide what's best for the child.

Our goal is to provide a trained advocate for every abused and neglected child in Williamson County  who needs one. There are approximately 587 children in the Department of Family Protective Services legal responsibility in our county.

You must be at least 21 years of age and be able to pass extensive reference, Child Protective Services and criminal background checks before becoming a CASA volunteer. You may not be a current foster parent or be in the process of adopting a child from Child Protective Services.
