About the Casper Family YMCA:
The Casper Family YMCA was born in the mid 1950's out of a need for more activities and programs in Natrona County. Begun by a group of dedicated people from the local area, our YMCA was charted as a member of the national council of YMCA's in 1957. Some of the people that helped found the Casper Family YMCA are still active participants and donors. The stories that they tell about the beginning and the early years are priceless. The YMCA has been an integral part of the community of Casper for a long time. Since its inception, the Casper Family YMCA has served many thousands of community members and groups, of all ages, with opportunities that have enriched their lives.
The new building contained an indoor pool, exercise room, showers, and offices. Ten years later locker rooms, health centers, and racquetball/handball courts were added.
