A Caring, Creative Church in a Changing Community

Vision:

The Cedar Springs United Methodist Church exists to serve God, our community and our church family. We live this out by nurturing one another in the church and by reaching out beyond our walls in creative ways to share the love of Christ in our changing community and throughout the world living as a church of open hearts open minds and open doors.

Core Values:

Christian: We are a church which believes in the Bible as God's revealed word for us, and which teaches us what it means to be followers of Jesus Christ not just as a good man or teacher, but as God's Son, our Lord and our Savior.

Caring: As we seek to grow in faith and love, we also seek to meet one another's needs. We recognize that everyone needs something, and we want to help people find out what God wants them to do with their lives, so that they can live in the abundance promised through Jesus Christ.

Creative: God rested on the seventh day but that's not where God's creativity ended! As God is still a creating God, we too seek to be creative in our worship, in our discipleship and our life of faith together.

Changing: We recognize the need to change when God can use that change to reach people and change their lives. Change for change's sake only creates chaos. But failing to change and losing touch with those around us creates isolation for the church, and from those we are called to serve.

Community: As we recognize that we are all made in God's image, and that we believe in reflecting that image so that all may come to know themselves as beloved children of God. We live outside our walls as well as within and seek to share Christ's love in ways that bring people closer to him, and to his salvation.
