Wallace Farmer, a beloved teacher who retired from Purks Middle School in 2002, wrote the accompanying poem to celebrate the joining of two faculties, Purks Middle School and Cedar Hill Middle School into a beautiful new facility. The first students arrive at Cedartown Middle School on August 9, 2002.

New beginnings are exciting, heady, exhausting, but filled with promise. We celebrate the achievements and the memories made at CHMS and PMS, as we forge ahead and join together in hopes of creating even more achievements and memories.
