Central School PTO



Our Mission as a Parent Teacher Organization at the Central Elementary School is to promote and encourage communications among parents, teachers, administration and community. The PTO also sponsors and organizes school events, which deepen our community spirit and enhance our children’s educational experience at the Central Elementary School.

History

One of the first programs Dr. Margaret Strojny, Superintendent of schools wanted to implement was starting a PTO at each of the three schools to help encourage parent involvement. To that end, Mrs. Williams, Vice Principal started the Central School PTO in April 2003. A few meetings were held that school year to elect a board and begin the work of the new PTO.

The PTO Executive Board has changed several times since the beginning, but each Board has played a valuable role in laying the foundation for the programs and events that families enjoy today. Starting any organization from scratch takes trial and error, lots of time, and most of all patience to produce quality events and programs.

The Executive Boards past and present would like to extend our gratitude to Mrs. Williams for her support from the very beginning. Even with her promotion to Principal and her very busy schedule, she still continues to work with the PTO to guide and aid in the construction of the Central School PTO. Mrs. Williams support is the cornerstone to our success.

One of our most successful programs that began our first year is our Room Parent Program. Under the guidance of the two Coordinators the program has grown and expanded. Huge thanks to Jill Milton and Eileen Sears.
