Medford is a progressive community located in north central Wisconsin. The City is known as the industrial hub of the area with strong industrial and manufacturing sectors that provide over 6,700 jobs in this city with a population of 4,260.

Incorporated in 1889, the city is governed by a Mayor-Council form of government. Two alderpersons are elected to 2-year terms in alternating years in each of 4 districts, the Mayor is also elected to a term of 2 years.
