About Us:
North Plains is located 19 miles west of Portland, Oregon. It is located in Washington County, five miles from the high tech Sunset Corridor.
The City of North Plains was originally plotted around 1911 to serve as a processing and shipping point for locally grown farm and forest products. Later, as the community expanded, log laden trains from the coast range supplied the lumber mill here. Our town now bustles with businesses such as lumber mills, various manufacturing companies, grain storage and sead cleaning companies, electronic assemblers, and much more.
North Plains was incorporated June 25, 1963. Today the City covers about 350 acres and has an estimated population of 1700.
