History:
Virginia was founded in 1836 by Dr. Henry Hall. The township is situated at the crossroads of routes 125 and 78 in the heart of Cass County.
Virginia is blessed with a good water supply and the beautiful Jennie Marr Dunaway Memorial Park with its pool, ball diamonds, tennis court, walking path and park pavilion. Along the park is the Rexroat Prairie (prairie grass and wildflowers) and authentic log cabins. Virginia is a mere 5 minutes west of the 16,500 acre Jim Edgar Panther Creek State Fish and Wildlife Area, one of the state's largest and most beautiful natural settings. It offers fishing, hiking, biking, wildlife viewing, horseback riding, hunting and camping. The town offers restaurants, groceries, shops and fuel to the many visitors.
