The Clark House Complex has three interactive musuems that reflect the history of the "Oldest Summer Resort in America." Governor John Wentworth loved Wolfeboro so much that he established his own 6.000 acre farm on the current Wentworth State Park. Our musems reflect that history with the Governor Wentworth furniture collection throughout our 1778 house in addition to much of the Clark family treasures and those of some of the leading families in our town's history! Our grounds were owned by 100 years of Clark family members. Our one-room school offers not only information about the history of the school, but fun-filled "lessons" like you might have experienced when the school was in Pleasant Valley! Write on real slateboards, roll some hoops at recess, and line up to have your hands checked as you enter our schoolroom.  Our replica Montor 1 firehouse has unique displays of the reconditioned fire engines and hose engines used in the Victorian period of Wolfeboro.

Our museum keeps history alive through such displays and activities. We aim to serve the needs of all ages through fact-filled tours and weekly events such as Antiique dolls, poetry, herbal talks, antique fashion displays, an airing of our quilt collection, ice cream social and many other annual events such as our Colonial Day and Grand Opening debate about independence. Volunteers are encouraged to come and help pass history on to the public!  Artists, crafters and historians are welcome to offer programs to our public. Schools are encouraged to schedule visits to our three museums.  Teas can be arranged for groups.
