The Clarkesville-Habersham County Library contains more than 40,000 items. Its Heritage Room houses a large collection of local and Georgia history and genealogy, and focuses on Habersham County and the northward migration path. Assistance in family research is available from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Friday.
The library has computers with access to the Internet, Microsoft Excel, Publisher, Word, educational software for children and more.
Books, videos, audio tapes and CDs may be checked out for two weeks. IRS forms are also available. Story hour for children on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings.
Additional services for which there are charges include photocopying, faxing and laminating. Conference rooms are available by reservation for civic or church groups, business meetings, seminars, workshops, government agencies, nonprofit agencies, clubs and conferences. A small utilities fee is required of most groups.
