In 1999, Primary Care Providers for a Healthy Feliciana, Inc. opened a rural health center at in side the Clinton Middle School. This center received Federally Qualified Health Center Status in September 2005 along with RKM Primary Care. In January 2009, in what was then Clinton High School a federally qualified health center was opened with a new modular building on the campus of the Clinton High School known as Clinton High Health Center. After the school system consolidated the High Schools and the Middle Schools, this clinic became Clinton Middle Health Center. The clinic is staffed by a nurse practitioner, registered nurse, social worker, medical assistant, and receptionist. A floating dentist and dental hygienist also visit the health center for exams, cleanings, and sealants. The clinic serves the school’s 333 students in grades 7-8, the students’ families, the school faculty, and the entire community.
