Covenant Church was founded in June of 1976 as a small home fellowship group that met for prayer and Bible Study. This small congregation was strongly motivated to acknowledge the Lordship of Jesus Christ, the power of the Holy Spirit, and a life founded in Biblical principles.

Covenant Church was incorporated under its present name in August, 1983. In April of 1987, the church purchased land, with office facilities, at 12621 Strickland Road in Raleigh. Early in 1988 they began construction of a church building, and moved into our sanctuary in November, 1988. Working under God's call to be an apostolic community, their plans are to reach the Triangle area for Christ, and to train and send our ministers to plant new churches in other cities and nations. Under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, King Solomon wrote, "Where there is no vision, the people perish" (Proverbs 29:19).

We at Covenant Church have a two-fold vision: "To know Him and to make Him known." We know it is a lofty goal - changing the world for Jesus! But God can do incredible things through ordinary people whose hearts belong to Him!
