The Cresap Rifle club is a non-profit NRA affiliated organization located in Frederick Maryland. Cresap was founded in 1928 by a group of local men with a passion for the shooting sports. Emphasis was placed on the development of young shooters through the establishment of a jr. rifle team. Over the years our club members have donated their personal time and energy to maintaining the facilities, ensuring a safe and fun shooting environment for the public and providing firearms education in order to advance as well as preserve the shooting sports.
Cresap is used as a firearms training facility for the public as well as local, state and federal law enforcement agencies. The club has also been used by television networks to film documentaries about firearm use, and their history.
Today the club offers open shooting to the public an array of firearms and hunter education programs as well as a healthy and active jr. rifle team. The Cresap Rifle Club's jr. rifle team competes at Camp Perry yearly and has produced shooters that have gone on to win awards and college scholarships for their achievements.
