In 1996, the City of Daphne acquired the property located at the end of Bel Air Drive which has been named Bayfront Park. Located on the property is a pavilion which in 1997 was dedicated by the Daphne City Council to the memory of Richard Scardamalia, a local photographer. Mr. Scardamalia was instrumental in the effort to acquire the property as a park for the citizens of Daphne.
The Richard Scardamalia Pavilion is available for rent. There are two meeting rooms inside the Pavilion. The Sunset room can accommodate 450 people with chairs and 250 people with chairs and tables. The room is equipped with a bar and a breathtaking view of Mobile Bay.
