Dawson ISD currently has one Pre-K through 12th grade campus and is rated Recognized by the Texas Education Agency. The district has met Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP), which is a requirement of the No Child Left Behind legislation. In addition, Dawson ISD has received Gold Performance Acknowledgements for:

- Recommended High School Program (Class of 2005)

- Texas Success Initiative (TSI) Mathematics

- Commended for Reading/ELA
