Deep Run Elementary School is celebrating 16 years of successful teaching and learning! We continually strive to improve instruction to ensure the success of all students. Our mission statement clearly states our fundamental goal: “Success for all students! Whatever it takes!”

We achieve this goal through the combined efforts of our teachers, staff, parents, and community members. Our School Improvement Team, Management Team, Student Support Team, Business Partnerships, Parent Volunteer Program, and PTA Executive Board are examples of groups that collaborate and support our belief that all students can learn. We are working together to make a difference in children’s lives and to help our students achieve academic excellence.

Our “Read at Five” grant and our 21st Century Grant through the Maryland State Department of Education exemplify our commitment to our school community. We know that parents play a key role in their child’s education. Therefore, we have developed positive home/school partnerships through communication via school and team newsletters, notes and phone calls home, parent/teacher conferences, informational evening events, parenting classes, and family fun nights. In addition, we encourage parents to volunteer and visit their child’s classroom.
