Our first and most important job at Dirksen School is to provide the best education possible for our students. We seek to accomplish this by working closely with our School Leadership Team, which is composed of teachers, support staff, parents and our principal. This group meets regularly to:

• Establish important instructional goals.
• Determine the necessary strategies to achieve these goals.
• Monitor and assess student performance in these goal areas.

Our mission at Dirksen School is to educate all students in a secure, respectful, and challenging environment where the needs of the children always come first.

We are proud of the academic success of our children. Dirksen students have consistently exceeded state performance on the Illinois State Assessment Tests (ISAT) as well as on nationally formed and local assessments.

We set high expectations for student performance and behavior. We ask each student to show respect for others and to do their best work.
