Down to Earth is new to Kennett Square this year. Yet over the past few years we have partnered with Crawford Organics / Wimer's Organics in Lancaster County and operated market stands in Bryn Mawr, Bala Cynwyd, and Rittenhouse Square. Through hard work and continued support from the community, we are pleased to announce that we will be operating our own farm in Kennett Square in the spring. We are currently pursuing organic certification and will be practicing organics.

We will be offering a 27 week CSA running from May 24 through Thanksgiving 2011. The Half Share option will consist of 13 bi-weekly pick-ups within the season. Membership for weekly basket is $675 with the share containing 7-9 items on a seasonal rotating basis.

Pick-ups will be: Tuesdays 3pm-7pm: on-site at the farm in Kennett Square and at satellite drop-off locations in West Chester, PA & Centreville, DE; Thursdays 3pm-7pm at the Bala Cynwyd Farmer's Market; Saturdays 10am-2pm at the Rittenhouse Square Farmer's Market in Philadelphia.

Members are expected to make a $200 down payment to reserve their space and to be paid in full May 1st. If you have an interest, please contact us as we will be sending out an application and CSA overview in the next week. Included in the invoice will be all the particulars of membership allowing you to make sure that a subscription is suitable for you before making a down payment. NO deadline at this point - we will continue to take members until full.

Here is a pretty good idea of what to expect through the seasons...

Spring Harvest - Lettuce, peas, baby greens, kale, beets, chard, carrots, spring onions, collards, boc choi, radishes, broccoli, spinach, cauliflower, dandelion, cabbage

Summer Harvest - Lettuce, onions, corn, melons, tomatoes, basil, garlic, eggplant, cucumbers, summer squash, potatoes, shallots, kale, chard, peppers, parsley, beans

Fall Harvest - Lettuce, peppers, beets, broccoli, cabbage, cauliflower, kale, chard, spinach, winter squash, onions, leeks, potatoes, baby greens, brussels sprouts

Down to Earth Harvest is a small farm located in Kennett Square, PA. We practice strict organics and are pursuing organic certification.
