Eastgate Christian Fellowship had its beginnings in the home of Pastor Peter Daignault. As a gathering of mostly Roman Catholics, the Holy Spirit moved in such a way that there was great hunger for the truth and for experiencing God's work, both personally and as a small body of believers. In time, this small group of converts left the Roman Catholic Church.

Directed by God, meetings were formed in homes in Portland, Lewiston and Topsham.  The need then arose for a more central location and in 1977 property was bought on Cobbs Bridge Road in New Gloucester.

As a church with no denominational affiliation, we practice all Biblical methods in worship, spiritual gifts, teaching and instruction, and elder based leadership.
