Elk River Baptist is a friendly, family oriented church which believes in the authority of God's Word, the deity of Jesus Christ and the real presence of the Holy Spirit.

We believe that salvation can only be realized through faith in the atoning work of the crucified and resurrected messiah, Jesus Christ. We practice believers' baptism by immersion in accordance with the example of our Lord and the practice of the New Testament Church. We observe the Lord's Supper as an act of remembering the Lord's death until he returns.

Elk River Baptist Church was established in 1955 and for about seven years met in the local theatre basement. It was accepted into membership in the Baptist General Conference in 1958. In 1962 the original building at 1800 8th Street was constructed, and 30 feet added in 1983. Our 50th anniversary date was sometime in August 2005. An anniversary celebration was held October 2, 2005 with morning worship at the church, dinner at the Holiday Inn, and program at the church in the afternoon. Many former members attended, along with current members and attenders.

The church is a member of the Baptist General Conference (link below) but is totally autonomous.
