The Environmental Studies Center is operated by the Martin County Public School System.
Students in kindergarten through seventh grade and high school marine biology and
environmental science classes visit the Center each year to participate in hands-on field
investigations. Students explore the St. Lucie Estuary, Indian River Lagoon, Hutchinson Island’s
beaches, mangrove swamps and freshwater ponds and wetlands.
