Our Roots:
For 54 years Faith Christian Assembly was located in Bellflower, California. We moved to our present location in Seal Beach, California, in November of 1999. We are associated with the Christian Evangelistic Assemblies, an evangelical organization of churches. Our Senior Pastors, Rev. Gwyn & Ginny Vaughn, came to us in April 1992. They have served in other pastorates for more than 35 years. They have two grown children and two grandchildren.
Our Beliefs:
We believe the Holy Bible is the inspired word of God, a revelation from God, and that it is the infallible rule of faith and conduct, and is superior to conscience and reason. We believe in God as Creator, both of man and the universe. We believe He is the Father of the Lord Jesus Christ.
We believe man was born in sin, and must be saved by the blood of Jesus Christ. We believe in holiness, without which no man shall see God.
We believe in Water Baptism, the Work of the Holy Spirit, prayer for all believers, the local church, and the office of Pastors and Elders.
We believe every believer needs a church home where he may partake in fellowship, spiritual edification, personal growth, and the Lord’s Supper, that we may keep in memory our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
We believe in the soon return of our Lord, coming in glory and majesty, in which afterwards there will be a new heaven and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness. We believe every man will one day stand before God, and give an account of himself for his conduct and behavior in this life.
Our Purpose:
We exist to provide a place of worship for our members, and those who would join us. Our purpose is to exalt the name of Jesus Christ, and to proclaim all things He taught concerning Himself, the Father, and the Church. We exist to provide a place where people may be instructed, exhorted, and edified in the ways of God. We exist to offer prayer for the spiritual, physical, and financial needs of all concerned. We exist to provide comfort, counsel, and love, in the midst of a world of pain and conflict. We exist to address and help meet the needs of senior adults who live in Leisure World and the surrounding community. We exist to serve humanity in many countries of the world, helping people with food, medicine, clothing, and needed equipment, as well as supporting various missionaries on foreign soil.
Our Vision:
Our vision is to see the old-fashioned values, with which many of us have been raised, be restored to our society. To see respect for the rule of law, our leaders, and civil authority restored in the hearts of our citizens. It is our vision to see our people wave the grand old flag, and remember those who died on the battlefield so man can live free. It is our vision to see the younger respect the elderly. Our vision is to see seniors live out their final days in useful service to God and His Church, as well as their community, and country. It is our vision to see people enjoying worship in their local church, with songs that inspire hearts to face the challenge of another week. Our vision is to provide heart-warming services and activities that renew the spirit, heal the broken heart, and give renewed hope to those who have lost faith. Our vision is to see crime decrease and communities safe once again. Our vision is to see those who have turned their hearts away from God come back to church and the loving arms of our Heavenly Father, who is tender, just, and willing to forgive.
